Who We Are

First Footsteps Nurseries is a small group of three nurseries based in Liverpool and Leyland. We have many years' experience in providing high quality childcare in a safe, stimulating and happy environment for children ages between three months and five years.

What We Do

Research has shown that children learn more in the first five years of their lives than at any other time, and that young children learn through play. Our first and prime aim is to nurture happy, confident children who are interested in all they see, hear and do and who have enquiring minds. We aim to educate, but also to make sure that everyone has plenty of fun at the same time! For smaller babies, we provide a caring, homely and secure environment with stimulating toys and activities to aid their development in all areas.

Our Staff

When you place your child in one of our nurseries, you are placing your trust in us and our staff. Our staff are selected very carefully, on the basis of their qualifications, experience and ability to care and interact with young children.

Partnership With Parents

We work closely with you to ensure that, from the moment your child joins one of our nurseries, we establish the best foundation for his or her future.

Operation Encompass

In conjunction with Merseyside Police, First Footsteps is involved in an initiative called Operation Encompass. The purpose of Operation Encompass is to safeguard and support children and young people who have been involved in, heard or witnessed a domestic abuse incident. Following such an incident, children may arrive at nursery distressed, upset, worried and unprepared. Operation Encompass aims to ensure that appropriate nursery staff (called Key Adults) are made aware early enough to support children and young people in a way that means they feel safe and included.

at Norris Green is Stacey Seddon (Nursery Manager & Safeguarding officer).

This is a valuable initiative that means we can continue to support and help children and families within our nursery community when they need it the most.

Free Nursery Educational Grant

2, 3 & 4-year-old 15 and 30 hours free funding is available at First Footsteps. Claiming free early years funding is an ideal way to prepare your child for school at no cost to you. Whilst the government funding is intended to cover the cost to deliver 15 or 30 hours a week of free childcare, it is not intended to cover the cost of meals provided  by the nursery. As such, a charge for meals supplied is made as follows:

These charges are voluntary as families are able to supply their own meals, if you prefer to supply all meals taken in nursery you must advise the manager in writing prior to the commencement of each term.
